Pick by how you carry
Pouch on the belt, tote in the van, bucket organiser on the site.
A bag fails at the bottom, then at the zip
Ask anyone who has worn one out and the story is always the same. The base goes first, soaked through or torn on a kerb, and then the zip goes, because grit works into the teeth and the slider stops tracking. That is why almost everything on this floor has either a moulded rubber base or a hard plastic one, and why we favour wide-mouth frames that hold themselves open rather than zips that must be forced round a corner. Waxed canvas earns its place for the same reason: it will not tear where a coated nylon will, and it ages instead of failing.
